Beautiful 1815 Large Silver Coin Italian Papal State Scudo Pope Pius VII

Description: A beautiful and large silver coin from the Italian Papal States. This is the 1815R Scudo. The coin depicts the image of the Papal arms on the obverse with the legend "PIUS VII. PON.M.A.XVI .XVI." surrounding the image. The reverse shows a seated woman in the clouds holding keys in one hand and a church in the other. The edge of the coin has a floral design and the legend PAX IN TERRA all around. The coin weighs ~26.3 grams of 0.917 silver and measures ~39.5 mm in diameter. The coin is in very fine condition. It is beautiful and has very preserved details with considerable honest wear. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description.

Condition: I would grade this coin as a very fine with honest wear commensurate with its age. The coin has all of its details still evident with wear to the high points and much of the details of the lady saint's dress and features. The papal arms on the obverse shows wear to its center but its edges are still very well preserved. The legend and design along the edge has considerable wear too but is still decipherable. The coin has scratches and dings, which can be seen in the photos. The coin is nicely toned and has nice eye appeal. Be that as it may, it would make a nice addition to your collection.
