Description: Beautiful proof 1964 (1384 AH) Fifty Egyptian Piastres silver coin with mirror like fields and matte design. The coin depicts the Aswan High Dam with the Nile flowing and the sun rising behind the structure and commemorates the fact that on May 15, 1964 the dam structure resulted in the diversion of the flow of the Nile River., a major historic feat. The coin is labeled (Al Gomhouriah al-Arabiah al-Mutahida) United Arab Republic as opposed to Arab Republic of Egypt. The coin was minted when Egypt and Syria where united into a confederation. It is KM-407 and weighs 20 grams of 0.72 silver. It measures approximately 40 mm in diameter.

Condition: I would grade this coin as a beautiful proof with all the details being very well preserved and all of its original mint luster with mirror like fields and matte design. The coin is much better than the scan shows. It does have some minor scratches but nothing of concern. Just a great looking coin which is rare in this state.
