Mexican Crown Size Silver Coin 1921 Two or Dos Pesos Centennial of Independence Mint Mark Mo Good Extremely Fine or Better
Description: A beautiful silver crown size coin from the Mexico. This is the 1921 two or dos pesos coin with mint mark Mo. The coin is a commemorative of the Centennial of Independence. It depicts winged victory with a wreath in her raised right hand on the obverse. The obverse also has the denomination and the words 24 Gr. Plata Pura. The reverse shows the National Mexican Arms (depicting the Mexican eagle with a serpent in its beak) within a wreath. The reverse has the legend "ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANO," the date in Roman numerals, and the mint mark Mo. Just a beautiful coin with residual mint luster and well preserved details. This is KM 462 weighing ~26.6 gm and measuring about 39 mm. It has the reeded edge. This coin was designed by Emilio del Moral. Condition: I would grade the coin as a good extremely fine or better with all the details being well preserved. The coin retains some of its original mint luster. The high points in the coin show wear but you can still see the facial features of victory. The reverse shows nice details of the arms and the cactus plant on which the eagle is perched on the reverse. The coin has some stains and soiling, which can be seen in the photos. The coin, in our opinion, may have been cleaned, but that does not truly affect its beauty or quality. The coin also has scratches, minor dings, and bag marks. It has soiling along the edge and along the rim as well as a few stains again along the edge especially on the reverse. The coin has wear commensurate with its age and circulated state. It is a beautiful, great looking and would make a great addition to your collection. Please see photos for additional condition information.
