  • $ 649.99

Description: An great uncirculated or better 1293 AH 10th year of Sultan Abdul Hamid II reign, or 1884 AD, Egyptian twenty Qirsh (or pistres) silver coin. This is a large and heavy silver coin. The coin depicts the tughra of Abdul Hamid the second with the denomination under it and a rose to its right all surrounded by branches and having two crossing quivers under it all. The reverse says "Duribah Fi Misr" or struck in Egypt with the number 10 over the "beh" in duribah (for 10th reginal year of Abdul-Hamid's reign) and the date 1293 AH under it for the year when Abdul-Hamid ascended the throne, all surrounded by branches and having three stars on top. Just a beautiful design, by Emil Weigand of Berlin Germany as evidenced by the "W" in the bottom of the obverse.  The coin is beautiful, having quite a bit of its original mint luster and is lightly toned with all the details being well preserved and very readable. Please carefully review scan as it is part and parcel of our description.

Date: 1884.

Mint: Egypt.

Size and Weight: This is a 20 Qirsh, weighs approximately 27.9 grams of 0.833 silver and is about 40 mm in diameter.

References: It is KM #296.

Condition: I would grade this coin as a beautiful uncirculated or better with all the details being very well preserved and very nice eye appeal. The coin is beautiful and has some of its original mint luster. It does have minor scratches, bag marks, and minor bumps to the rim. The coin has one obvious shallow ding to the rim on the obverse, which can be seen to the left of 12 O'clock.  Be that as it may, the coin is beautiful and has very nice eye appeal. Please see photo for condition information.
