Uncirculated 1889 Crown Size Republic of Peru Silver Coin One/Un Sol NGC MS62
Description: A beautiful uncirculated Peruvian silver crown size coin. This is the 1889 TF Republic of Peru One or Un Sol silver coin. The coin depicts the Liberty seated and facing right. Liberty is holding a staff in one hand and a shield that is sitting on the ground in the other on the obverse. The obverse has the legend "FIRM E Y FELIZ POR LA UNION" surrounding the seated liberty and the denomination "UN SOL" below her. The reverse has the Peruvian arms within springs and having a small wreath above it. The reverse has the legend "REPUBLICA PERUANA LIMA .9 DECIMOS FINO T.F." surrounding the arms and the date 1889 below it. This is a large and heavy coin with a reeded edge. The coin is uncirculated, is graded as MS 62 (Mint State 62) by NGC and comes in a plastic slab so labeled. It retains all of its luster, has no observable wear, and has great eye appeal. Size and Weight: This is a one sol, which should weigh ~25 gm of 90% silver and measures ~37 mm in diameter. The coin has a reeded edge.
