1798 Large Silver Coin Bolivia 8 Reales Mint Mark PTS Charles III or Carolus IIII Nicely Toned Extremely Fine or Much Better
Description: A nicely toned extremely fine or much better 1798 PTS PP Bolivian silver coin. This is the Carolus IIII 8 Reales depicting the bust of King Charles the third of Spain on the obverse. The obverse of this large, silver dollar size coin, has the legend "CAROLUS.IIII.DEI.GRATIA" surrounding the king's bust and the date 1798 below it. The reverse depicts the crowned arms of Spain between pillars with the legend "HESPANIA.ET IND.REX" followed by the mint mark as a monogrammed "PTS.8 R. P.P." all surrounding the arms. These coins were used extensively in the US before the silver dollars were circulated. The coin is nicely toned and shows all the details very well. It is a truly nice coin with great eye appeal and has nice heft to it. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description.

It has scratches, several dings to the edge and a few bag marks all of which can be seen in the photos. Please view scan for additional condition information.
