1887 Beautiful Copper Coin Congo Free State or Belgian Congo Two Centimes with Central Hole NGC Uncirculated Surface Hairlines
Description: This is a beautiful small copper coin from the Congo while under Belgian occupation. This is a two centimes coin dates 1887. It depicts crowned monogram of King Leopold of Belgium around a central hole on the reverse with legend "LEOP.II. R. D. BELGES. SOUV. DE L'ETA INDEP. DU CONGO" or Leopold the second King of Belgium and the independent state of Congo along the edge. The obverse has a star with the hole in its center. The coin is graded by the Numismatic Guarantee Corporation as Uncirculated with detail, which is Surface Hairlines. These hairlines can be seen on the obverse but are light and covered by the beautiful green patina. The coin comes in a slab showing the rim and all the details. Condition: The coin is graded UNC DETAILS (Surface Hairlines) by NGC. It comes in a plastic slab that is so marked. The coin is beautiful and is nicely toned. It does have light hairlines on the obverse which are covered by the beautiful green patina and are difficult to see. Other thann that it is a beautiful coin woorthy of a spot in your collection.
