1899 Silver Coin 20 Cents Straits Settlements Malaya Peninsula Queen Victoria XF

Description: A beautiful extremely fine or better 1899 silver coin from the Straits Settlements in the Malaya Peninsula in southeastern Asia. This is a twenty cents coin and has a reeded edge. The coin displays the bust of Queen Victoria of England facing left on the obverse. The obverse also has the legend "VICTORIA QUEEN" along the edge surrounding the queen's bust. The reverse displays the denomination in numerals within a beaded circle with the words "Straits Settlements Twenty Cents 1899" surrounding it. This is KM# 12, weighs ~5.4 grams of 0.8000 silver and is ~23 mm. The coin is great looking and is nicely toned. Size and Weight: The coin weighs ~5.4 gm and measures ~23 mm.

References: It is KM #12.

Condition: I would grade the coin as extremely fine or better. The coin is nicely toned and has well preserved details with some wear to the high points. It has a few light stains and some soiling, which can be seen in the photos. The coin has some minor surface scratches and bag marks, never the less it has very nice eye appeal. It has wear commensurate with its age and circulated state. The coin is problem free and has a few spots on both sides. Please see photos for additional condition information.
