Description: A beautiful very fine or much better bi-metallic medal depicting the head of Abraham Lincoln the 16th president of the United States in copper within a white metal or aluminum planchet. The medal, which was issued in 1909 is meant to commemorate the centennial of Lincoln’s birthday. The medal has the legend "LINCOLN 1809-1909" surrounding the president's head on the obverse in raised letters. The front also has the notation "HEEREN BROS & CO" below the head. The reverse of the medal has the image of cabin in the center with the words "CABIN/ IN WHICH/ ABRAHAM LINCOLN/ WAS BORN/ FEBRUARY 12/ 1809" surrounding the cabin. The medal is made of white metal or aluminum with the head of Lincoln being of copper and is applied to the surface of the medal on the obverse. The medal has plain and unmarked edge. A great medal with nice eye appeal worthy of a spot in your medal or Lincoln related collection. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of our description.

Condition: The medal is in very fine or better condition with all of its details being well preserve and exhibiting minimum wear. The medal shows wear to the lettering, loss of finish on the copper head on the obverse, and several scratches and minor dings on the fields all of which can be seen in the photos.
