1934 Bronze Commemorative Medal Henry Morgenthau Jr Treasury Secretary US Mint
Description: A nice large and heavy gold or brass colored bronze commemorative medal showing the bust of Henry Morgenthau Secretary of the treasury in the period 1934-1945. The medal depicts his portrait, facing left with the legend "HENRY MORGENTHAU.JR-SECRETARY OF THE TREASURY" along the edge surrounding it. The reverse depicts the image of the Treasury Building in Washington DC with a banner below having the date JAN.1 1934. The edge of the medal is unmarked. This is the US Mint medal number 214. A great looking and very interesting commemorative medal in mint state condition to add to your collection. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of our description.

Weight and Size: The medal weighs ~226 grams, is ~76 millimeters in diameter, and ~5 millimeters thick at the edge.

Marks: Signed SINNOK 1938 on the bottom edge of the bust on the obverse and signed J.R. SINNOK and ADAM PIETZ on the lower edge of the building on the reverse.
Condition: The medal is in excellent condition and I would grade it as mint state uncirculated. The medal has no observable surface marks and no wear. It has what I view as beautiful brassy coloring and nice eye appeal. A nice medal to add to your collection. Please view photos for additional condition information.
