1951 Bronze Medal Society Of Medalists SOM 43 "In The Beginning" by Albert Wein
Description: A nice large bronze medal from 1951. This is the Society of Medalists 43rd issue medal. The medal, known as “In The Beginning”. It has the image of God standing and creating man. woman, sun, and stars etc. with the legend "IN THE BEGINNING GOD CREATED -THGE HEAVEN AND THE EARTH" along the edge surrounding the design on the obverse. The reverse has the image of God sitting with a divider and the words "AND GOD SAW EVERY THING THAT HE HAD MADE, AND, BEHOLD, IT WAS VERY GOOD" along the edge surrounding the image. There is also the mark AW (c) below the image. The medal has a nice toned bronze finish. The edge of the medal is marked on the edge with the words "THE SOCIETY OF MEDALISTS 43rd ISSUE-1951 ALBERT WEIN SCULPTOR" on one side and the words "MEDALLIC ART CO N.Y. BRONZE" on the other side. The medal comes in its original issue box with pamphlet describing the medal. A great looking and very interesting medal to add to your collection. New York on the inside with the words "THE SOCIETY OF MEDALISTS" on the outside of the lid. There is also the notation AW (c) below the design on the reverse.
Condition: The medal is in excellent condition and I would grade it uncirculated\. The medal has no wear with a minimum of surface marks, if any. This is a great looking medal that is problem free.
