1968 Large Bronze Medal Society of Medalists 77th Issue Nina Winkel Sculptor

Description: A nice large and heavy bronze medal from 1968. This is the Society of Medalists seventy seventh issue medal. The medal has the image of two boys building using bricks on the obverse. In exergue, N.W. (c) 86 bottom of the design on the obverse. The reverse shows three girls dancing in a circle. The medal has a beautiful textured brassy surfaces. The edge of the medal is marked "The Society of Medalists 77th Issue-MAY 1986 Nina Winkel SC (c). and "Medallic Art Company N.Y." The medal comes with its original box which is in ok condition with all the corners being broken. A great looking and very interesting medal to add to your collection. Weight and Size: The medal weighs ~212 grams, is ~72.5 millimeters in diameter, and ~5 millimeters thick at the edge.

Maker: Medallic Art Company of New York.

Marks: Marked "The Society of Medalists 77th Issue-MAY 1986 Nina Winkel SC (c). and "Medallic Art Company N.Y." along the edge of the medal. There is the marking "N.W. (c) 86" bottom of the obverse.

Condition: The medal is in excellent condition and if it was a coin, I would grade it about uncirculated or much better. The medal has minimum wear if any at all with minimum surface marks or scratches. It has what I view as beautiful green verdigris coloring, which is has been applied to the surface, representing one of the various surface finishes for this issue. The medal is great looking and is problem free. A great medal to add to your collection. The box in which the medal is is in OK condition with all of its corners being broken the surface of the box being fairly soiled and a few tears to the cover.
