1970s Blown Art Glass Paperweight Blue and Yellow Bird and Pink Flowers By Henry Davis
Description: A beautiful paperweight with a nice colorful design round and heavy paperweight by Henry Davis Master Paperweight Maker in Wheaton Village in 1970s. The blown glass paperweight depicts a colorful image of a blue and yellow bird perched on a branch of what looks like a pink roses bush. The base or lower part of the paperweight has a cobalt blue coloring white the paperweight is clear above the bird's image. The paperweight is marked with a raised H within the letter D on the base for Henry Davis. A beautiful and rather unusual paperweight by a master glass blower from Wheaton Glass in New Jersey. Date: Uncertain but most likely sometime in the 1970s.
Origin: Purchased at an estate sale in Southeastern Pennsylvania. Made in Millville, New Jersey.
Size: The base is ~1 1/2" in diameter and the piece is ~3" in diameter and is ~3"high. The paperweight weighs over one and a half pounds.
Maker: Henry Davis.
Marks: Has the raised letter H with in the letter D on the base.
Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: A good size, heavy, and nice paperweight with an interesting and colorful design. The piece would display very well in your collection of paperweights or art glass collection. Condition: The paperweight is in excellent condition and has no cracks, hairlines, or repairs. The design of the piece is vivid and beautiful. The surface of the piece is clear and clean. The paperweight has a line of about four or five small bubbles in front of the bird's beak on the surface of the design. We are uncertain if these are intentional or not. Other than that the paperweight has no problems and is absolutely beautiful and in great shape made by a great art glass artist. Please see photos for additional condition information.
