Description: A beautiful handmade Mary Gregory painted frosted blue colored glass vase. The vase, which is made of glass, has a hand painting, in white coloring, depicting a young girl on a swing tied to a tree branch with a dog at her feet. She is wearing a dress with a ribbon. The tree has leaves and the scene shows grass on the ground as well as a bush. The scene is painted in great and beautiful details of both the girl and the dog, all at one side of the vase. The painting is signed C Steeley and dated 1971. The piece is marked on the bottom with the very faint letters WG, for Westmorland Glass. Date: The drawing is dated 1971.

Origin: Purchased at an estate sale in Lancaster County Pennsylvania.

Size: Measures ~2 3/4" in diameter at the base, ~5 1/4" in diameter at the center, ~3 1/8" in diameter at the top, and is ~7 1/8" high. The piece weighs about 1 pound and 3 ounces.

Maker: Westmoreland Glass.

Marks: The piece is marked on the bottom with the very faint letters WG, while the painting on the side is signed C Steeley and dated 1971.

Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: A nice piece of enameled or painted glass with beautiful coloring and design, which would make a great addition to your collection. Look carefully at the piece and you will realize that it is f the highest quality workmanship.

Condition: The vase is in very good condition with no breaks, no chips, no repairs, and no losses of paint. It was obviously well cherished and taken care of all these years. The painting is still well preserved with minimum losses to the coloring if any. The piece is very well made and the artwork is of first quality and well done. The only thing we see is a small spot on the edge of the rim that looks like a very small crack but the piece does not show any roughness and the spot can only be seen with 10X loop. This looks more like an original issue which occurred during the making as opposed to being true damage. Be that as it may, this is a great looking piece that is solid and in very good condition.
