Description: Beautiful uncirculated copper coin with residual luster from the Congo Free State. This is the coin with a central hole having the 5 Centimes denomination. This is the 1887 Five Centimes copper coin listed in Krause as KM #3. The obverse has a radiating crowned monogram of King Leopold of Belgium surrounding the central hole with the legend "LEOPOLD II ROI DES BELGES SOUV. L'ETAT INDEP. DU CONGO" along the edge. The reverse shows a star in the center with the date and denomination. This is KM #3 measuring ~30 mm in diameter and weighs ~10 gm. A lustrous uncirculated and truly beautiful coin. Date: 1887 

Mint: The coin has a mint mark "W" to the right of the date. The coin was issued by Congo Free State. 

Size and weight: This is a copper 5 Centimes measuring ~30 mm in diameter and weighing ~10 gms. 

References: It is KM #3. 

Condition: I would grade the coin lustrous uncirculated. IT has a beautiful red-brown coloring. The coin is beautiful and has residual luster and no observable wear. The coin is beautiful and has great eye appeal. The coin has a few surface marks such as scratches and bag marks as well as a few minor blemishes and signs of oxidation.
