Nice Very Fine Crown Size Silver Coin 1913 AD 1327 AH year 6 Egyptian Twenty Qirsh Ottoman Sultan Muhammad V
Description: A nice very fine or better silver coin from Egypt. This is a crown size twenty qirsh coin from the reign of Muhammad V the Ottoman Sultan. The coin shows the sultan's tughra, a rose to the right and above the tughra and the denomination below it all surrounded by a floral design with crossing quivers. The reverse says Duribah Fi Misr (struck in Egypt) with the number 6 for the 6th year of Muhammad V's reign over the letter "Beh" on top and three stars above it all. There is also Muhammad V accession year of 1327 AH below it, all surrounded by a floral and foliate design along the edge. It is KM 310 measuring approximately 40 mm in diameter and weighing about 28 grams of 0.833 Silver. The coin has a reeded rim. Date: 1913 AD - 1327 AH year 6 of Mohammad V's reign.
Mint: Egypt, actually these were struck in Birmingham England as evidenced by the "H" in the bottom of the obverse.
Size and Weight: This is a 20 Qirsh and is ~40 mm in diameter and weighs ~28 grams.

Condition: I would grade this coin as a good very fine or better with all the details being relatively well preserved. The coin shows wear and losses to the details in the high points of floral designs both on the obverse and reverse as well as showing wear to the stars on top of the obverse. The reverse of the coin is in a much better preservation state than the obverse. The coin is also soiled within the decoration and calligraphy, and has scratches as well as minor bag marks to the surface. The coin also has a few minor nicks to the rim. The coin has wear commensurate with its age and circulated state. It is much nicer than the scans suggest and hence our attempt to take photos of the coin to show its beauty and quality (see the first two photos). It does have very nice eye appeal.
