One Year Type 1944 Egypt Silver Coin Hexagonal Two Piastres King Farouk I AU 58
Description: A beautiful about uncirculated hexagonal silver coin from Egypt. This is the unusually shaped, one-year type, hexagonal 1944 (1363 AH) two Egyptian Piasters silver coin. The coin depicts the bust of the deposed King Farouk the first, wearing a fez, facing left on the obverse. The obverse also has the words Farouk the First King of Egypt surrounding the king's bust. The reverse of the coin is labeled (al-Mamlakah al-Mesryah) Kingdom of Egypt in the center with the denomination above and the date below. This is also surrounded with a series of lotus flowers all along the edge of the coin in a circular fashion. This is KM-369 and should weigh ~2.8 grams of 0.5 silver. It measures approximately 19 by 21 mm. The coin is graded AU 58 by ANACS and comes in a plastic slab so labeled. Low denomination coins such as this one, are becoming very difficult to find, since these are normally heavily circulated or have been taken out of circulation and melted for their bullion value. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description.
