1888/7 Copper Coin Hole in Middle Five Centimes Congo Free State AU++
Description: Beautiful about uncirculated or better copper coin with residual luster from the Congo Free State. This is the coin with a central hole having the 5 Centimes denomination. This is the 1888/7 Five Centimes copper coin listed in Krause as KM #3. The obverse has a radiating crowned monogram of King Leopold of Belgium surrounding the central hole with the legend "LEOPOLD II ROI DES BELGES SOUV. L'ETAT INDEP. DU CONGO" along the edge. The reverse shows a star in the center with the date and denomination. This is KM #3 measuring ~30 mm in diameter and weighs ~10 gm. A nice about uncirculated with residual luster beautiful coin. Mint: The coin has a mint mark "W" to the right of the date. The coin was issued by Congo Free State.

Condition: I would grade the coin about uncirculated or better with residual luster. It has a beautiful red-brown coloring. The coin is beautiful and has residual luster and minimum observable wear, if any. The coin is beautiful and has great eye appeal. The coin has a few surface marks such as scratches and bag marks as well as a few minor and very light blemishes. Be that as it may, it is a great looking coin in wonderful condition.
